Chronic traumatic encephalopathy in athletes

The problem of chronic traumatic encephalopathy is extremely relevant from both medical and sports points view. Unfortunately, in the domestic literature to date, this issue not discussed enough. consequences repetitive mild brain injury play an important social role, which determines relevance studying need develop methods for solving it. This article provides a brief review on athletes predominantly contact sports. Statistical data prevalence professional non-professional associations are given. development conditions mechanisms pathogenesis studied pathology discussed. Changes substance at microstructural level, pathological biochemical reactions factors genetic predisposition described. Modern criteria clinical diagnosis encephalopathy, as well differential with other neurodegenerative diseases, indicated. main pathogenetic clinically similar, but exclusively genetically determined neurodegenerations briefly presented.
